Survey Results: Keeping the Name
Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey! Many of you gave very thoughtful replies, so we really appreciate it. Roughly half of you prefer the name Genderfluent, so I am sticking with the name. We may create a second app targeting the non‑transgender community. It will share the same codebase, so any new feature built for one will automatically benefit the other.

Social Media: Where Should We Hang Out?
Also, there were three clear winners for where you all preferred Genderfluent be present, so join the new communities:
- Discord: discord.gg/SGJTEXgKdQr
- Reddit: reddit.com/r/Genderfluent
- Bluesky: @genderfluentapp.bsky.social
Discord will be the preferred platform for you to share issues or feature requests.
Upcoming System Upgrade (Passwords Will Be Reset)
A core system is being upgraded on May 14th, so Genderfluent will be unavailable from 10 PM to midnight (EST) that day. All users will be logged out and passwords will be reset.
What Do You Need to Do?
If you signed up using Google (i.e. you did not set a password):- Nothing, you can sign in as usual.
- Once the upgrade is done, you will be sent an email to reset your password.
- Click on “Forgot password?” on the login page.
If you expect to lose access to your email before May 14th, you need to change your email in your account settings or you risk losing access to your data.
Why is this being done?
- Necessary upgrade before releasing the iOS / Android apps.
- Enhanced security and stability, such as allowing two-factor authentication.
- Support for additional social logins (e.g. iCloud, Discord, etc.).
- Link your existing Gmail-based account to Google social login: if you originally signed up with a Gmail address and password, you can now connect your Google account and use the “Sign in with Google” button for one-click access.
Thank you for your patience and support as we continue improving Genderfluent!
