Improvements:

• Simplified the zooming behavior. You can now click / tap and drag to select a region to zoom into. An icon will pop up in the lower right to let you undo that zoom.
• All free accounts now get 1 min / day of real-time formant estimation.
• Real-time formant estimates are shown more smoothly, rather than added in 1 second chunks.

Fixes:

• Fixed an issue with noisy audio recordings. Audio is processed in small segments (e.g. 0.01 seconds), but they would sometimes get out of order, which caused the ‘staticky’ sound.
• Fixed an issue where an audio recording that was shared was not properly displaying the chart data (e.g. pitch, formants).
• Fixed an issue where the total saved audio recording was not calculated correctly.
• Many other small bug fixes and UI improvements.

Known issues:

• I added the option to sign in with your Apple account, but it currently does not work. I need to wait for Apple’s servers to update on their end. Might take a day or two.

• You can now select the microphone input again. To do so, click on the filter icon in the top right, and select the “Microphone input” dropdown.

The scheduled maintenance is complete. All users should expect to get an email to reset their password, but if they did not then click “Forgot password?” on the login page.

• Fixed a temporary issue with logging in with Google and saving/fetching recording.
• Fixed an issue where the play/pause button would sometimes get stuck in the “Pause” state when you started recording new audio while playing back something that was already recorded.

• Fixed incorrect urls in the website footer.
• The change email flow was improved. You now have to enter a new email and verify it via an email sent to that new email; in the meantime your account will show that the new email is awaiting verification. Note: right now, you cannot change your email if you signed up via “Continue with Google”

• Audio will be recorded in mp3 format by default for all browsers. It was previously set to webm for some browsers.
• Fixed interactive playback issues with Firefox.
