The app is lagging or the data visualizations go off screen as I record

If you are experiencing lagging or the data visualizations going off screen while recording, it may be due to the following reasons:

• Browser or Device Performance: Real-time audio processing is resource intensive, especially if you have many tabs open or if your device is low on resources. Try closing unnecessary tabs or applications.
• Network Issues: If you are using a slow or unstable internet connection, it may delay how fast formant estimates are displayed, since they are calculated on the server and sent back to your browser.

Solutions

• Change settings: Try lowering the ‘Update frequency’ and ‘Algorithm quality’ in the pitch estimation settings. See the image below for guidance.

• Use a Different Browser: If you are experiencing issues in one browser, try using another. Chrome and Firefox generally perform well with audio processing.
• Reduce Background Processes: Close any unnecessary applications or browser tabs to free up system resources.
• Check Internet Connection: Ensure you have a stable internet connection, especially if you are saving recordings to the cloud.
• Update Your Browser: Make sure you are using the latest version of your browser, as updates often include performance improvements.
